This book utilizes images originally featured in the two-volume set “Atlas of Taiwan Aborigines,” published in 1915 by Japanese photographer Mori Ushinosuke. The chosen photographs are approached from a different angle than that of Mori – an appreciation and exploration of the creative design inspirations that are displayed. Through the help of his lens we see the beauty of Taiwan’s indigenous peoples, and observe the clothing and accessories worn by tribal men and women a century ago, in a rich display of eternal fashion sense.
